Zoe-perry
Perry was born to actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first television performances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed her role. She did not consider a career in acting until after she had reached the age of adulthood due to her parents being afraid of the negative effects that stress could have. Perry was a shy teenager and was not a performer. Her first acting experience was at Northwestern University to gain friends when she moved from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry went to New York to search for television work landing small roles in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent However, she was stricken by homelessness and brought her back to California and she was able to find acting jobs. Perry performed with her mom on stage in The Other Place at Broadway, back in 2013. She appeared in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie, along with Kevin McKidd. This was presented in the West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry played a lead role in nine episodes of the ABC drama The Family. Her father played her character in her role on the ABC show Scandal. She played the role of a younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off series that was part of the CBS show The Big Bang Theory was another younger portrayal of her mother. The character was assigned to her through audition, even though she was a cousin to the character.
