Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's popularly known as was an American born British singer and guitarist who was the leader of the only female hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group did not have much of a following in their home country of the United States. However, their fame grew internationally, particularly in Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career when the group broke up in 1979. She started taking voice lessons before releasing her debut album "Out For Blood" and then "Dancin" on the Edge. The two albums didn't get much attention and Ford was largely absent out of the scene for a couple of years. In 1988, she released her hit album "Lita". The single 'Kiss Me Deadly and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' were both huge success. Sadly, her fame was short-lived and she remained absent from the world of music for many decades. Her return came when she released 'Black' in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' nearly 15 years after. The album she released most recently "Time Capsule," launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
